FERRIC SULPHATE
It is a reducing agent, Ferrous sulfate is mainly used as a precursor to other iron compounds
Iron(III) sulfate or Ferric Sulfate, is a family of inorganic compounds with the formula Fe2(SO4)3(H2O)n. A variety of hydrates are known, in fact are the most commonly encountered form of "ferric sulfate". Ferric Sulfate Solutions are used in dyeing as a mordant, and as a coagulant for industrial wastes.
Industrially, ferrous sulfate is mainly used as a precursor to other iron compounds. It is a reducing agent, and as such is useful for the reduction of chromate in cement to less toxic Cr(III) compounds. Historically ferrous sulfate was used in the textile industry for centuries as a dye fixative.
