Product Application: 

USES: Manufacture of photographic papers, artificial ivory, cellophane, and filler for rubber, linoleum, oilcloth polymeric fibres and resins, paper, lithographic inks and as a water-colour pigment for colored paper in wallpaper. Other applications include uses as a size for modifying the colors of other pigments and in the manufacture of heavy concrete for radiation shield.

Barytes, Barite or heavy spar are the different names given to the same mineral having compositions BaSo4- (BARIUM SULPHATE). Barytes has higher specific gravity and lower bulking value. It has a low oil absorption and it has high resistance to acids and alkalies. The various grades of Barytes are available of which Extra Super Snow White and Off Colour are commonly used. Extra Super Snow White(ESSW) is extremely white in colour, has superior optical properties. Off Colour (O.C.) Barytes is off white / grey in colour. The Barytes is pulverized under rigid control by the system of dry grinding and different particle size powders are achieved by air separation method.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS :
 
SPECIAL COATING ( PAINT) INDUSTRY :
 
• Barytes due to high specific gravity and bulk density gives lower oil absorption which is very much advantageous to increase pigment ratio without very much affecting the rheological properties of  the paint. E.g. Flat Wall Paints, Traffic Paints and Primer surfacers etc.
 
• Barytes Extender, due to its excellent resistance to acids and alkalies, find maximum usage in Chemical resistance coatings.
 
• Barytes Extender does not have very high pH value hence it is used in combination with alkali sensitive pigments ( Eg. Lorn Blue and Chrome Green) to impart greater density and compactness to films of the paints.
 
• Barytes being alkaline is also used in Latex paints.
 
• Due to its high specific gravity, Barytes settles at the bottom very rapidly to a hard setting. To avoid settling additive like Aluminium Stearate is recommended.
 
RUBBER INDUSTRY :
It is used as filler. 
GLASS INDUSTRY :
It is used as Clarifier and Homogenizer.
PAPER INDUSTRY :  
It is used as a Filler for improving brightness and bulk.
TEXTILE INDUSTRY : 
 It is used as filler in book binding cloth and PVC cloths..
CHEMICAL INDUSTRY :  
It is used to manufacture of Brium Chemicals
OIL WELL DRILLING :
In the manufacture of drilling mud for use in shallow and deep drilling.
