Alkaatuff is effective emulsifier and heavy-duty alkaline cleaner which has various cleaning applications including removal of greases, waxes, vegetable and animal oils, sludge, soot, carbon deposits, dirt and grime. It is also used for cargo hold cleaning after coal and pet coke.

Use of fresh water should be done during Ship Hold Cleaning with Alkaatuff instead of SeaWater. Because hardness of Seawater reduce the Foaming Qualities of Alkaatuff and also reducing the foaming qualities of the  any detergent. As per chemistry law and detergency effect sea water reducing cleaning effect. Seawater increasing  corrosion risk to the surfaces and the equipment used and metal surface. When mixing Alkaatuff  with seawater Higher concentration of Alkaatuff required at least 20 - 25% (ratio 2:9 to 1-3). Using of Seawater instead of Fresh water can lead to damage of the metal surfaces of Ship which can result in major lost. Using of fresh water can save the material for long term.
